Saving web pages
There are several ways to save web page content for later use. This exercise shows different options and compares the advantages and disadvantages.
Preparation
All you need to prepare is a PC and an internet connection. Alternatively, this exercise can also take place on a tablet or smartphone.
Method / Process description
First, individual options for storing website content are shown and, if necessary, carried out once by way of example. Afterwards, the different options are compared and their advantages and disadvantages are evaluated.
First, the learners should select an article on a website that they would like to save. Then the article will be saved in different ways and the differences between the options will be evaluated.
- Option1: Bookmark
- Option2: Saving the web page via the function "File -> Save" (CTRL + S).
- Option3: Printing the web page (On paper or as a PDF)
- Option4: Highlighting, copying out the text and finally pasting it into a word processing programme.
