Content Creation & Creativity

The aim of this exercise is to give participants an insight into a wide range of content tools for text creation, images and graphics, screenshots and screen recordings, video, presentations, webinars, website creation and content management.

Preparation

All you need to prepare is a PC, smartphone and an Internet connection to look up information from the Internet.

Lecture on "Content Creation/Creativity". The presentation should clarify the following:

  • What is meant by content creation/creativity?
  • Why are content creation/creativity tools experiencing such an upswing?
  • Who all can use content creation/creativity tools?
  • In which areas are content creation/creativity tools used?

The exercise sheets serve as additional support and stimulation.

Method / Process description

The participants are given the task of familiarizing themselves with the topic of content creation/creativity. 

A short input about Content Creation/Creativity will be given as an introduction to the topic. The content referred to in advance will be discussed.

After this brief intro by the teacher, a worksheet will be provided with links of Content Creation/Creativity tools for text creation, for image and graphics, for screenshots and screen captures, for video, for presentations, for webinars, for website creation, and content management. This tool list is available on the wiki at wiki.cumila.eu.

For the first time, the participants should get a short overview on their own and select a tool they do not know yet and search for information about this tool on the Internet. Criteria to search for could be the following:

  • Free use possible, subscription payable monthly or annually, free and commercial use possible.
  • Tool is available for Windows and Mac
  • Support given 
  • Data security
  • Etc.

Afterwards the participants should present and discuss their results in plenary.

The participants should first draw their own conclusions from their observations from the discussion with the others.
